Gone Fishing

by Bob Poole on May 30, 2014

This is my last blog post. I know it has been a long time since you’ve heard from me but I didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye and thanking you for your attention and feedback over the years. I’ve enjoyed our interaction and learning from all of you! And, I’ve been fortunate to have met, worked with and become friends with quite a few of you. Those friendships and memories will last my lifetime.

I’ve decided to retire from giving full-time attention to The Poole Consulting Group. I still have a few long-time, clients who I will continue to work with as long as they’ll have me.

I’ve already started the retirement process by fishing a few times per week on local ponds, lakes and streams over the last couple of months. Those two rainbow trout above were caught 10 minutes from my home last week. I bought a new fly rod and I’m going to re-learn how to use it. I also enjoy trap, pistol and rifle shooting and I might even take up archery again.

I did all these things as a young kid growing up in Ohio and later into my 30’s. Then my business heated up and I made a choice (not necessarily a good one) to stop playing and concentrate on business – for over 30 years. I realized when I got my Medicare card in the mail that it was time to get back to all these things and be that kid once again.

So, if you’re looking for me, I’ll be the guy wading the local trout stream with a fly rod in my hand and a big grin on my face. Come and join me any time

Enjoy your retirement! Catch some good fish (but throw a few back for the rest of us!). Cheers
