A Marketing 2.0 Solution

It seems like every day I talk to a small business owner who wants to understand and use all the tools of Web 2.0 and all the other 0's but they just aren't sure where to start. And, even when I give them some help in starting, they feel overwhelmed and wonder if there isn't some way they can get help with implementation short of hiring a new employee.

I was going to save this for a Friday Feature but I think it is important enough and certainty topical enough for its own post.

For the person who doesn't want to have to assemble their own tools for building and maintaining a blog (plus your website), learn search engine optimization and key wording, understand and create analytics for both your company and competitors, create landing pages where you can provide additional content while building database intelligence and maintain customer relationships – HubSpot might very well be the solution for you. It also integrates your social media into the entire program.

I've been testing HubSpot now for about five months with a client that has been in business over 10 years and has had a web presence since their beginning. They have also done quite a bit of permission based email marketing for the last five years. In five months we have:

  • Increased traffic by 700%
  • Started a new blog that is attracting 10% more subscribers each month. We now have almost 1,000 new visitors per month.
  • Created 61 new customer leads
  • I can tell you that LinkedIn and Google are our top two referrers. I can also name the other 250 in the last 3 months.
  • I know which pages, blog posts, tweets and other postings attract the most attention and leads which allows us to build more similar content.

This just scratches the surface and, yes, there are other tools that will tell you the same things. But, HubSpot has all of this built into their software so that you don't have to assemble, purchase, and learn all those other tools.

Marketing and Web 2.0 require work and a learning curve for the average business owner. I'm not going to kid you about that. Instead of being outbound it is now inbound. HubSpot has created software that automates a lot of the work and allows you to concentrate on creating content and establishing relationships with your prospect and customers.

And, isn't that what you really want to do?
