After Every Sale

There is a simple thing that as a salesperson you should be doing after every sale. And, few salespeople actually ever do it. You need to send the customer a thank you note, gift, flowers, something that conveys your appreciation.

Now, here is the key. You need to do it immediately. It should be sent the same day or the following day at the latest.

Why? Well there is the obvious need to say thank you. Just as important is to reassure the client that they made the correct decision. Salespeople have a saying that it isn't really a sale until the check cashes. This will help get that check through the bank. It takes away buyer's remorse.

And, it's all part of building the long-term relationship you want and need.
