Be Great at Character

character

There are a lot of things people can be good at in life—athletics, math, school, throwing parties, art, music and sales. But not all of us can be a professional or top of the field at most of the things out there. The playing field just isn’t level. Some people are naturally gifted athletes, or creative wonders. The one thing that all of us can be great at is character.  Character is who we are when no one is looking. It’s a set of attitudes, behaviors and a way of looking at life that speaks to our moral and ethical personality. It is the foundation that will allow you to build a quality sales practice upon – and a quality life.

Abraham Lincoln said, “Reputation is the shadow, character is the tree.” Character is learned. Even if you don’t have it now, or if it’s damaged, you can change. It’s your choice. Character is the foundation you built your success on, so look closely at yours. What is it? Good character is doing the right thing because it’s the right thing, not because someone is looking, or judging or might find out. No matter what your age, race, background, gender, ability or disability anyone can develop great character.

Will you?
