Customers Are For Life

Twenty percent of your customers will give you 80 percent of your business. Current customers buy more and are more valuable than prospective customers. Loyal customers are for life. It costs more to get a new customer than to keep a loyal one happy. Ever hear any of those mantras? No? Read them again. They all say the same thing; “Customers are for life, if you can keep them happy.” Face it. We all hate change. Once we’re find a product we like or we’re happy with a vendor, product or service, we tend to keep it—unless something really, really bad happens. We’ll even tolerate the occasional moody customer service person or inconvenient repair if we’re happy overall with the product or service. It takes a really unhappy customer to decide to break a contract or jump ship in search of better offerings. So why not focus as much or more effort on keeping your current clients and customers happy as you do on finding new ones?
