Imagine No Prospecting

Are you still cold calling? Do you spend hours of your working day looking for someone to buy your product or service? If you only get paid when you sell something then spending your time prospecting and cold calling is a big waste of time and money.

Why do so many sales experts, managers, and trainers spend so much of their time teaching people how to prospect to people who are disinclined to listen to you? Why don't they focus instead on attracting people who want to do business with you?

You are working way too hard if you're still chasing business. And, if you are a professional sales person and the company you work for is still counting on you to prospect – I'd recommend finding a new company. Find one that has marketing professionals whose job it is to make you the most productive that you can be. Find one that values the time a professional salesperson spends selling.

I've seen too many small companies that burn through one sales person after another because they put their salespeople at a disadvantage by making them do the job of marketing. Too many small business owners use the terms marketing and sales interchangeably. They're wrong. And, everyone loses when they do.
