Is This A Microsoft Marketing Strategy?

Software_bug
I'm trying to decide if this is a marketing strategy on the part of Microsoft. Let me explain what I'm talking about. Every time for the past year when I have installed the latest Microsoft XP software patch, I have experienced slowdowns on my computer immediately after.

For a while, I thought maybe it was just a coincidence or I was imagining it. I realize now that is not the case. We have three computers here still running XP. One came installed with Vista – which was a mistake on our part. We also run Firefox as our browser instead of Explorer. Firefox just came out with a new version that rocks. And, it is much faster than the previous version. That is until you install the latest software patch from Microsoft. Then everything crawls and Firefox took forever just to load. This happened on all three computers.

Are you seeing a pattern here? Which begs the question – is Microsoft purposefully sending out patches that will slow down XP or Mozilla products or both? Or, are they just putting out really crappy software? Either way – we, the customer, are getting a bad deal.
