Life Secrets No One Ever Told You

Once in a while I recommend books here. Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of reading a book I had heard about but never bothered to pick up since the subtitle is "The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need." I'm almost 60 years old. I wasn't giving a lot of thought to guiding my career.

But, because I was recently involved peripherally with supporting someone who wrote about an addition for the book, I thought I'd better read the entire thing.

The title is "The Adventures of Johnny Bunko" and you already know the sub-title. It is by Daniel H. Pink and it is book of both words and manga.

There are six lessons in the book and it is a career guide – of sorts. You could even call it a life guide. It is a wonderful guide for anyone stuck at their job and wishing they could be doing something else. It is the perfect book for your friend who has had enough of the corporate rat race. Or the one who always wanted to own their company or the guy who wants to give up accounting for art.

Do you know anyone in high school or college? It may be the perfect gift for them.

Do you know anyone who is in their 30's or 40's or 50's or 60's or 70's who have always wished they could be doing something else but feel stuck now? It may be the perfect gift for them too.

You could Google and probably find it. But, you won't know the entire story and it is a story worth hearing. But, read the book first. You can read it in about an hour and you can find it on Amazon or Borders for less than $15.
