The Greatest Salesman

Happy Holidays

Christmas means different things to different people, but to me the season is about a special wisdom from a long, long time ago. Everything you need to know to become a successful salesperson, entrepreneur, or freelancer was committed to these 10 simple scrolls centuries ago. Read one scroll 3 times a day for 30 days and a new habit will form that will help you meet your personal goals.

Because it’s Christmas, some of you may think I’m talking about the Dead Sea Scrolls or the Bible.

Some of you however may recognize that I am referring to the book, “The Greatest Salesman in the World,” written by Og Mandino in 1968. The scrolls were actually written by Mr. Mandino and comprise much of this easy-to-read, self-help book. But, don’t let the term easy-to-read affect your thinking. There are very powerful concepts contained in the scrolls that require meditation and self-reflection. Each scroll contains a life-altering principle. Over 15 million copies of the book have been sold and thousands of people have written about life-changing outcomes as a result of applying the principles of the scrolls.

I always think of this book and Og Mandino at Christmas. You see the book is written in the form of a parable and includes the birth of Christ as the foundation for the secrets of the scrolls. I was lucky enough to meet and spend some time with Og in the early nineties. I had already read “The Greatest Salesman…” when a mutual friend introduced us. It went beyond a typical introduction. There was something very spiritual about Mr. Mandino, and I never forgot how I felt in his presence.

Some of you might find the idea of a self-help book written in the form of a parable that also includes the story of Christ’s birth to be too clichéd or just not your style. That’s what I thought when I first heard about the book, but I approached it with an open mind because a person I respected recommended it. It changed my life and it just might do the same thing for you. What have you got to lose? More importantly, think about what you might gain.

I can’t promise you that you’ll become the greatest salesman in the world if you read the book. But, I can promise you that if you want to actually make positive changes in your life, then this book will definitely help you do that.

Quote:

“It is better to act and fail than not to act and flounder.”
“Without action, all fruit will die on the vine.”
