Verizon’s Customer Service Just Gets Worse!

Verizon_serviceThe marketing executives at Verizon are at it again. I happened to catch our local Philadelphia news last night where the lead consumer action story was about good old Verizon. If you remember some months ago, I wrote here about their offer of a flat panel TV if you signed up for their Triple Whatever.

It seems that most of the people who signed up have never received their television. In fact, Verizon had refused to communicate with them despite letters and phone calls. Some of them have been waiting six months.

Finally, when Verizon realized they were about to make negative news AGAIN in the third largest market in the country, they decided to communicate. They said they were sorry for the inconvenience. I heard them say it to a reporter. Verizon is sorry for the inconvenience.

“So what are you going to do about it, Verizon?” asked the reporter. “Well, we’re going to get them the TV we promised them.” “How soon, Verizon?” “Well, as soon as possible.”

I’ve got an idea for you Verizon – why not give all these people free service for the time period you’ve made them wait (and are still waiting) to get the TV you promised if they would sign up? Now that might show that you are beginning to get an idea of what real customer service is all about.

What are you going to do Verizon?

Nothing as usual?
