What’s A Good Lead?

I don’t usually buy doughnuts in a gas station or a clothing retailer. I don’t expect to find pizza in a Chinese buffet either. You might be surprised to find fresh doughnuts somewhere other than a bakery, but if you’re serious about eating great doughnuts, you go to a store that’s serious about making and selling them. It’s the same with finding good leads. If you haven’t taken the time to explicitly define exactly who you’re selling to, you won’t know where to shop, so to speak, and you certainly won’t be able to sell.

Too many salespeople approach lead generation without first figuring out who really wants to buy from them.
