Xobni is Inbox Spelled Backwards

If you use Outlook at your email program, there is a great new free plug-in that you should give a try. It’s called Xobni which is the word “inbox” spelled backwards. According to their website www.xobni.com, the company is a San Francisco, California based start-up that is revolutionizing the way people manage email relationships. Their mission is to “take back” the email inbox for our users.”

They claim to have started Xobni because they believe that people spend too much time searching for conversations, attachments, and other important information in their inbox. I happen to agree with them. Xobni offers a new way to organize and search your Outlook email. Xobni creates profiles for each person that emails you. These profiles contain relationship statistics, contact information, social connections, threaded conversations, and shared attachments.

After a quick install, you’ll see the new Xobni toolbar appear in Outlook – and suddenly information will become much easier to find. When a new email arrives, the sender’s full communication history appears in the Xobni sidebar, including past conversations, attachments and contact details. Xobni also includes a blazing fast email search tool.

Features include:

  • Lighting fast email search
  • Email analytics
  • Navigate your inbox by people
  • Your personal assistant
  • Threaded conversation so you can read conversation in context
  • Quick attachment discovery
  • Phone number extracted from email

I was amazed at all the information the program supplied. I can’t even begin here to list all the features. Suffice it to say that It turns your email experience into a social network and organizes your email by people and relationships instead of dates and messages.

You can even have your contacts photo displayed and it will pick them up from LinkedIn. I’m still learning what all it can do but I heartily recommend giving it a try. Go to www.xobni.com and download it. You can then give it a test drive yourself.
